Where To Put A Chaise Lounge In A Bedroom
When it comes to decorating I go through different phases of intense obsessions. From styles, color schemes, innovative ideas and thought, I get excited when I discover something new. One of my current obsessions is the chaise lounge. Mr.P and I had a chaise lounge when we first married. Our furniture at the time was very modern. After a few years of marriage, I decided we needed a completely different look and out the chaise lounge went! What was I thinking? I'm no rock star to be throwing away completely good furniture. I would never do that today. If only I could go back, there are so many things I would tell that young and oh so inexperienced girl. One being 'STICK WITH THE CLASSICS'! They never go out of style, you just can't go wrong.
The chaise lounge is a piece that dates back several centuries and has steadily maintained quite a presence in home décor throughout the years. Simple and classic, the chaise lounge is available in many different styles and can easily find a place in your home's interior design.
From family rooms to bedrooms, offices, living rooms and patios, there are plenty of ways in which to arrange the chaise lounge. Here are a few helpful tips for choosing and placing one in your home:
- Remember that a chaise lounge is seating for one individual. It can't take the place of a sofa or multiple chairs. If you are setting a chaise lounge in an area of the home that needs multiple seating spaces – such as in a living room – then be sure to surround it with additional options. It is not unheard of to arrange a chaise lounge and a couch in the same space.
- Be willing to branch out. Classic chaise lounges may resemble something you might find on the set of a 1940s film, but your home décor may lean towards a more contemporary look. Luckily, there are plenty of modern looking chaise lounges to accommodate your tastes – from overstuffed to minimalist. There are even double chaise lounges for patio spaces. Sounds divine doesn't it?
- Throw pillows and additional cushions are not always necessary. Depending on the design of the chaise lounge itself, you may not need any additional accents – especially if your piece is covered in a particularly busy pattern. Also, lounges designed as minimalist are better left alone.
As with any new furniture you'll want to make sure your new chaise lounge serves your living space in both form and function. Chaise lounges are designed to be stylish, but moreover they are designed for ultimate comfort and relaxation.
Lay back and relax in a chaise lounge today
...you'll be glad ya did!
ENJOY!
